We arrived in Amsterdam yesterday after a tiring 87 miles. After setting up camp over the Amstel we headed into town and bought some falafel (if you know what I mean) and wandered around the streets of yesteryear. The city feels like a very different marker in the trip from other cities; although Hamburg was to be our half way point it felt like we were coming to an end. Also having never been to Hamburg the distance from Oslo doesn't really resonate. Amsterdam on the other hand feels like a waypoint to the end and it gives some perspective on the 1100 miles we've cycled so far.
On a side note, Amsterdam library is an incredible building,

Reading central could learn a lot.

We're now five days ahead of schedule and so may be back by the 12th. Between now and then though we get to go to Bruges. We're still debating whether it is tactless to go into the tourist info there and ask them to mark all the locations used in the film on our map.
it´s not tactless and Bruges is beautiful. enjoy yaselves and get photos of max pushing jules off the tower...or vice versa...
